Chinese Computing
Get your system ready for using Chinese resources on the web.
  • Key Software. Your key to English windows applications. The only Chinese word processor we have found that allows the display of pinyin and Chinese characters at the same time.
  • NJWIN (NJStar CJK Viewer) will allow you to view Chinese characters through your web browser (30 day trial version).
  • IE 5 users can go to any web page displaying Chinese characters (i.e. The People's Daily). Then go to the View Menu and down to Encoding. Choose auto-select and you will prompted to download the required components for reading Chinese (Free).

  • Zhongwen.com is a detailed on-line character dictionary (including geneology), but also includes readings from literature and has an on-line pinyin chat room.
